Anwar Parrish, 27, is a native of Shelby, N.C. Parrish was a student-athlete at Shelby High School, playing football and basketball. He was also a member of the track and field team. After graduating high school, Parrish went on to pursue his undergraduate degree at UNC-Charlotte.
After finishing his education, Parrish began training with pit crew coach Phil Horton at Chip Ganassi Racing (now Earnhardt Ganassi Racing). Parrish has carried tires at all levels of the sport, from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
As a member of the Drive for Diversity Crew Member Development program presented by Sprint, Parrish continues to train and improve his craft and also serves as a mentor to the program’s rookies who have not yet had the opportunity to go over-the-wall.
