Raphael Diaz, of Durham, N.C., has always had an interest in cars and racing, and now the 20 year-old is looking to make racing a career. Diaz, a graduate of NASCAR Technical Institute, has experience working with racing engines and chassis set-up, as well as fabrication and welding.
He also has the athletic ability to go over-the-wall. Diaz played soccer for Southern High School and obtained a full-scholarship to play middle forward for a Triangle United Soccer Club.
Diaz is confident that he has what it takes to succeed in the sport, and is ready to improve his skills as a tire changer through the Drive for Diversity Crew Member Development program presented by Sprint.
When he’s not training as a tire changer, Diaz enjoys being with his family, working on his project cars and improving his physical fitness.
